Introductory Level
(3-4 YEAR OLD CLASS)
This introductory session is a pre-instrumental music program for 3-4 year old children. Classes focus on exploring
the world through music in a small group setting size 6-8). This curriculum provides a joyful and exciting introduction to the many facets of music.
Activities:
- Rhythm work through movement, chants, singing, and percussion
instruments
- Hands on exploration of many acoustic instruments (Violin,
Bass, Trumpet, Trombone, Dulcimer, etc.)
- Many folk dances and musical games
- Movement in response to musical cues (high/low, loud/soft,
short/long, etc.)
- Singing, chanting, and exploring the voice
- Listening to sounds of nature and of home, and to music and
instruments from around the world
Cost:
Tuition: $340/semester, due twice yearly*
Materials fees: $60 (includes 9 instruments for home use)
Times and Dates:
Classes meet weekly, from September 20, 2010 to May 1, 2011.
Two class times are currently open: Friday 1:45-2:30, Friday 2:45-3:30
$60 materials fee due immediately to reserve a space. Semester
payments are due September 15, and January 15.
